High Conflict Violent and Separating Families was written specifically for school age children of divorce who have lived in violent home with violent parents and have been unreachable by any other means.  This book provides the divorce advice to help guide children through their thoughts and feeling that they have previously kept locked away.  Children of divorce will learn that violence is not the answer and they can be healthy and happy without it.  Divorce advice also includes role playing exercises, drawing, fantasy imagery activities, encouragement to allow children to voice their feelings, the strength to distance themselves from the conflict in their home, and the ability to see their future with hope.  This book is broken down into ten sessions for working with your child.  Topics include, saying hello and making a safe place to work together; exploring levels of feelings, actions and points of view; making a safe place inside and learning the rules of role play; exploring a safe inside place and back to reality; defining wishes for yourself and rules that work for your family and relationships; exploring the mirror: who you are and how you show your feelings; exploring yourself inside and outside; making a family sculpture; becoming experts on living with conflict; telling your story and thinking about you want to be.  Two appendixes are included for your reference on troubleshooting and psycho educational groups for parents, as well as additional readings.
